Dicycloverine Key Description Indications and Dosage Route of administration
Each capsule contains 10 mg dicyclomine hydrochloride
In functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Different types of colitis Diverticulosis.
Directions: Oral. Adults: 2 capsules every 8 hours. Children over 12 years: 1 capsule every 8 hours.
Anticholinergic Overview of gastrointestinal specific action that has antispasmodic effects. Its action is directly relaxing smooth muscle. No significant effects of atropine. C. Pregnancy Risk Adverse effects Dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, sedation, blurred vision, dysuria, euphoria, gastric fullness. Contraindications and Precautions Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the drug, obstructive uropathy, gastrointestinal tract obstruction, ileus, intestinal atony, ulcerative colitis, myasthenia gravis, in children under 12 years. Precautions: hiatal hernia, glaucoma and prostatic hypertrophy. Interactions may increase the anticholinergic adverse effects, class I antiarrhythmics, antihistamines, antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, MAO inhibitors, narcotic analgesics, nitrates and nitrites, sympathomimetic agents, tricyclic antidepressants.
