Treda 75ml SUSP, Neomycin, Kaolin, Pectin
THIS IS THE BRAND MEDICATION FROM SANFER
DESCRIPTION: Antidiarrheal and bactericidal specific gastrointestinal tract.
Treda ® is a synergistic combination antidiarrheal kaolin and pectin individually effective doses of neomycin, an antibiotic active against most common enteropathogenic bacteria in the etiology and pathogenesis of gastrointestinal infections such as Escherichia coli, Shigella, Salmonella, and Enterobacter Paracolon.
INDICATIONS: Treda ® is indicated for the treatment of diarrhea caused by susceptible strains of Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Enterobacter and Klebsiella.
Pharmacokinetics Neomycin is an antibiotic active against common enteropathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, such as E. coli, Shigella, Salmonella, Paracolon, Enterobacter and Proteus vulgaris. Neomycin is poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted by the kidneys.
Approximately 97% of an oral dose of neomycin is not absorbed and is eliminated by the stool unchanged.
An oral dose of 3 mg produces a peak plasma concentration of only 1 to 4 mcg / ml, a total daily intake of 10 g for 3 days reaches a maximum blood concentration below that required to produce a systemic intoxication.
Neomycin can be administered to children in doses of 100 mg / kg daily.
Use for more than 3 weeks should be avoided due to the percentage of drug that is absorbed. Kaolin and pectin are protective and gastrointestinal adsorbents, which have astringent and demulcent needed to increase stool consistency reduce the number of evacuations and loss of fluids and electrolytes in patients with acute diarrhea. Adsorptive properties help eliminate toxins and other irritants causes of diarrhea.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Patients with intestinal obstruction and idiosyncrasies to the components of the formula. Not be given to children under 6 years.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, as some aminoglycosides cross the placental barrier.
ADVERSE REACTIONS: Occasionally there may be nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
DRUG INTERACTIONS AND OTHER GENDER: Neomycin may enhance the effect of coumarin anticoagulants.
Can partially inhibit the absorption of digoxin and penicillin.
CHANGES IN RESULTS OF LABORATORY TESTS: There have been no changes in laboratory tests.
