Topsyn-Y Gel 0.05% 40g, Flucinonide, Clioquinol
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: Corticosteroid topical antifungal and antimicrobial. For the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, allergic and pruritic lesions wet, dry, acute or chronic.
TOPSYN-Y ® is indicated for the treatment of wet or dry lesions, acute or chronic cases of the following conditions: Atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis only in severe cases, eczematous dermatitis, nummular eczema, lichen planus. In contact dermatitis and neurodermatitis impetiginizadas, impetiginizadas scabies, impetigo contagiosa and other skin conditions in which yeast infection are key factors.
Contraindications TOPSYN-Y ® is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component in cutaneous tuberculosis and certain diseases such as herpes simplex virus and varicella.
PRECAUTIONS: As with any topical corticosteroid product, prolonged use may produce atrophy of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. When used on intertriginous or flexor areas, or face, this can occur even when used for short periods of time.
When a large number of topics coriticosteroides is applied to large areas of the body can occur significant systemic absorption, even when not using the occlusion technique.
Administration of topical corticosteroids in children should be limited to shorter period and less of the product supports effective therapeutic regimen.
In the presence of a viral infection should be instituted the use of an appropriate agent. Failure to obtain a favorable answer quickly, you should discontinue use of TOPSYN-Y ® with clioquinol, until the infection is controlled properly.
Prolonged use or large quantities of this product should be avoided in the treatment of disorders secondary to extensive skin burns, trophic ulceration and other conditions in which it is possible the absorption of clioquinol.
Spotting may occur due to the disintegration of clioquinol.
You can use a protective cover on the application to prevent staining of clothing.
It is recommended that TOPSYN-Y ® with clioquinol not use under occlusive pads. Diapers or rubber pants on a child can act as an occlusive technique and increase the absorption of TOPSYN-Y ® for the underlying skin.
Patients (especially children) who receive a lot of topical corticosteroids applied in a large area must be evaluated for suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (urinary free cortisol, ACTH stimulation test). If the HPA axis is suppressed, the dose should be reduced or discontinued.
As with other antibacterial and antifungal agents, prolonged use can cause the development of nonsusceptible organisms.
If superinfection occurs, appropriate measures should be taken.
This preparation is not for ophthalmic use.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: In most cases it is sufficient daily topical application TOPSYN-Y ® for therapeutic results.However, it is up to the doctor, according to the severity of the condition, apply two or three times a day, to obtain a uniform response quickly.
When the alteration is under control the dose should be tapered gradually.
